Uncle Hoang is like a second father to me and my cousins. He is unique, eccentric, prudent, intelligent, interesting, curious, humorous and all-around super fun. He loves books, plants, animals, wind chimes, Christmas lights, photography and riding his bicycle around his beloved city. He is frequently nostalgic of his childhood and the old Saigon atmosphere before the end of the war in 1975. I love talking to him about life, people, politics and God. James and his great-uncle share the same birthday.
