Bong’s birthday

March 18th was my niece’s Bong’s (pronounced ‘Bome’) first birthday. We went to Ong Ngoai and Ba Ngoai’s house, where she lives with her mom and dad. She was a bit cranky, as usual, but Jacob did his thang and got her smiling and laughing after awhile.

Check out these photos:

Bi and Jacob living it up at lunch on Bong's birthday. By the way, the food was scrumptious.

Here's her first b-day cake ever. Just a hint - don't try and eat trees made of sugar. Learned that the hard way.

Jacob showing Bong how the digging truck he gave her for her birthday. Obviously, he thought she would like trucks as much as him. Turns out, she loved it!

Jacob got to blow out the candle for Bong. His wish: 'I wish for these people to just cut this thing so I can eat it.'

About David and Lam

A smitten couple and loving parents in our early 40s. We have lived in 3 different countries together. We dream of living in a fourth country together after our children grow up. We love long walks in the woods, climbing mountains, boating, traveling, reading, and being together. Both David and Lam are old souls who love quietness and meaningful conversations in which we ponder the truth and mysteries of life as well as discuss philosophical and ethical matters. We especially like to enjoy the small pleasures of daily life.
