School’s out!

Jacob and his friend Alaric. Jacob’s holding his ‘diploma’.

Jacob finished Kindergarten last week. His report card came back and he’s pretty much on track: reading is improving, writing, numerical skills, etc. He just needs to practice more writing, reading and playing over the summer (really, they said he should play with others during the break to prepare for first grade!). He’s made a lot of progress with his physical development and got high marks in swimming especially.

He had his very own graduation as well and Bi and I went together. Each class did a different song/dance performance and Jacob’s class did a dance to ‘The Cha-Cha Slide’.

They even played the ‘Pomp and Cirucmstance’ song and gave each kid their own paper graduation cap.

Below are Jacob’s diploma and his ‘Character in Action’ certificate – better than any certificate my university gives out to students!

His first diploma ever! (And likely his most colorful!)

Always being optomistic – quite a challenge, but apparently he pulled it off (at least at school!).

I also took these two shots of Jacob getting on his bus (Bus number 6, as he always calls it) to go to Kindergarten for the last time. A big day, and one we’ll never have back. But, he’s on to first grade and happy for it!

Walking to the bus, but also stopping for some random ‘play’.

Onto the bus to Kindergarten – for the last time.

About David and Lam

A smitten couple and loving parents in our early 40s. We have lived in 3 different countries together. We dream of living in a fourth country together after our children grow up. We love long walks in the woods, climbing mountains, boating, traveling, reading, and being together. Both David and Lam are old souls who love quietness and meaningful conversations in which we ponder the truth and mysteries of life as well as discuss philosophical and ethical matters. We especially like to enjoy the small pleasures of daily life.
