Jacob’s reading award – his class won the school-wide ‘Readathon’
Hi – we thought we’d put up pics of what Jacob’s been doing lately, seeing as we just posted on James and his adventures.
Jacob’s in his second ‘semester’ of Grade 1 and still enjoys it, for the most part. He doesn’t like homework (who does?!) and isn’t wild about reading by himself, but does still enjoy learning – science and math in particular.
The homework is challenging at times -for him and us. He usually has math and word study homework everyday and getting him to complete this within our schedule of bath, dinner, and hopefully time together before an early bedtime – it’s a fairly tight schedule at times. But, we persavere – and this is the ‘Character in Action’ word/characteristic which Jacob’s class and school focused on in March. Below is the certificate he received for that:

Below are some pictures of him at school – more info on what he and his class are learning and the homework they complete is at his class website: msangelateacher.weebly.com
Jacob on the 100th day of school – with his 100 glasses he made and his 100 paint dobs (which he thinks looked like a butterfly)
Jacob in the forefront and friends in the background – playing mini golf behind their buidling at school

Jacob also had his birthday party last Saturday – below are pics from his party. He and his friends who came had fun!

About David and Lam
A smitten couple and loving parents in our early 40s. We have lived in 3 different countries together. We dream of living in a fourth country together after our children grow up.
We love long walks in the woods, climbing mountains, boating, traveling, reading, and being together.
Both David and Lam are old souls who love quietness and meaningful conversations in which we ponder the truth and mysteries of life as well as discuss philosophical and ethical matters. We especially like to enjoy the small pleasures of daily life.
