A Little Home in the Bluegrass – Us at Home; Our Kids Out and About

IMG_1629We do many things together at home and outside.  David and Lam love cooking and eating together.  We talk about many things over coffee and tea.  We watch our currently favorite detective show Midsomer Murders together when the kids are asleep.  We read books side by side either in bed or on the couch and discuss our books. We take care of our children together: Lam would fret too much and David would remind her to relax.

Mommy and Jacob like watching the Little House on the Prairie together, and Daddy and Jacob like reading their Star War Encyclopedia. Jacob and James play well together, except when James hit his big bro on the head with his toys. Many times Jacob and James form a perfect comedy teams like those in The Three Stooges.

David and Lam try to take walks in the park near Jacob’s school when permitted by James and the weather.  We try to take Jacob and James out to the park and to the library whenever we can.  At the library, James plays and watches other children, Jacob checks out Captain Underpants comic books, and Lam always checks out more books than she actually has the time to read.

Overall, we are all really busy day and night. We hope this phase of James waking up at night will pass and we will only be busy in the daytime.

About David and Lam

A smitten couple and loving parents in our early 40s. We have lived in 3 different countries together. We dream of living in a fourth country together after our children grow up. We love long walks in the woods, climbing mountains, boating, traveling, reading, and being together. Both David and Lam are old souls who love quietness and meaningful conversations in which we ponder the truth and mysteries of life as well as discuss philosophical and ethical matters. We especially like to enjoy the small pleasures of daily life.
