Mother’s Day Weekend 2014 is the happy ending to a hectic and exhausting week

This blog post would be so useful for when I am frustrated with my family or when I am worn out from my daily care-giving activities. Then, I will look at this blog post and remember that my family don’t fail to show their love in words and actions when it matters.

I got to wake up at 9:30am this morning. When I came out of the bedroom, the gift and card from Jacob were already waiting for me. David was on the computer doing his routine data entry and James ran to me for a hug. When I was half asleep, I could hear James wailing outside the door because he wanted to see Mommy.

When James took his nap, David, Jacob and I had a nice lunch together at the table. A rarity indeed. I usually have lunch by myself or David and I would have lunch together while talking about work.

My loving husband already had arranged for the roses to be delivered yesterday. He also took the boys out to play at the mall so I could have some quiet time at home to recharge. It means so much whenever he does that! He is also industrially vacuuming the house with soap water so we could live on cleansed floor. My husband always pays attention to cleanliness and tidiness which we all appreciate so much. What an appropriate weekend for power-cleaning our habitat! So much has happened this month and it is time for a fresh start.

We will carry on our mother’s day festivities by taking the boys out to a big park with a lake not too far from home. Jacob and James are in for some serious fun and running-around.

Just like all happy endings, this special, relaxing weekend is just the beginning of another busy week ahead.

About David and Lam

A smitten couple and loving parents in our early 40s. We have lived in 3 different countries together. We dream of living in a fourth country together after our children grow up. We love long walks in the woods, climbing mountains, boating, traveling, reading, and being together. Both David and Lam are old souls who love quietness and meaningful conversations in which we ponder the truth and mysteries of life as well as discuss philosophical and ethical matters. We especially like to enjoy the small pleasures of daily life.
