A December Day Out with James

James seems to have a determined personality. He is a lot pushier than Jacob when Jacob was at his age.

At this stage, James’ days are governed by exploration and frustration. He loves to explore nature, such as rain puddles, sticks, grass, snow, dirt, leaves, rocks, etc. He is usually frustrated because he could not talk as much as he would like.

When we are tired, which happens quite often, he is to us like a mini T-Rex, a cute-faced Russian Tzar, a spoiled crown prince, an abusive boss, a menacing bathroom invader, a hard-to-please live-in relative with short-term memory loss, and ultimately a big test of patience.  Parental love certainly comes in handy in such situations. Plus our cuddling time is very sweet!

On a daily basis, I am usually conflicted between a desire for him to never grow up and a wish for him to become 10 instantly.

About David and Lam

A smitten couple and loving parents in our early 40s. We have lived in 3 different countries together. We dream of living in a fourth country together after our children grow up. We love long walks in the woods, climbing mountains, boating, traveling, reading, and being together. Both David and Lam are old souls who love quietness and meaningful conversations in which we ponder the truth and mysteries of life as well as discuss philosophical and ethical matters. We especially like to enjoy the small pleasures of daily life.
