The Archbishop delivered a very good homily about how the confirmed children should take care to choose good friends in life and to stay close to Jesus. As he anointed the children on their foreheads with the holy oil, he said, “Peace be with you.” I felt a deepening of my faith in his joyful presence and sincerely asked God for the forgiveness of my sins in my prayers.
Another pious and enlightening moment almost like this took place at our family dinner table one evening after I had gone to confession with Father Saju earlier in the day. When we were about to have our meal, I suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of God’s grace and thankfulness for everything as it was right there at that moment. I then felt compelled to cry because I suddenly knew I have many things to be grateful for.
