Liberty State Park in New Jersey

On our summer travel last year (2002), we made a stop at Liberty State Park located right on the Hudson River in New Jersey to stretch our legs while driving from Providence, Rhode Island, to Annapolis, Maryland. This park claims to be New Jersey’s most dramatic state park thanks to having the Manhattan skyline, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty as its backdrop. Having started driving from Providence from around 3:30am that morning, we arrived there at about 7am. The time being early in the morning, not many people were there except for a few joggers and walkers. We assumed our fellow “early birds” were workers in New York City who were trying to meet their daily cardio quota before driving home, eating breakfast, showering and rushing to work. Unlike them, we had a marvelously convivial time strolling while breathing in the morning air and looking leisurely at all the sights across the river.

About David and Lam

A smitten couple and loving parents in our early 40s. We have lived in 3 different countries together. We dream of living in a fourth country together after our children grow up. We love long walks in the woods, climbing mountains, boating, traveling, reading, and being together. Both David and Lam are old souls who love quietness and meaningful conversations in which we ponder the truth and mysteries of life as well as discuss philosophical and ethical matters. We especially like to enjoy the small pleasures of daily life.
