Hi! Just a quick note to say I’ve updated this post with the photos below, taken by Bi’s Uncle Hoang:

‘My, oh my, how the time does fly…’

Somehow, someway, and over a period of time which seems to collapse down to a feeling which is much shorter than 7 years, our Jacob went from this:

Yesterday, March 3rd, 2013, Jacob turned 7. Lam and I are still in a bit of shock over it. 7 is definitely older than 5 or 6. It just sounds older, doesn’t it? It may not mean a lot to those parents who’ve been through this stage and now have children who are 13, 19 or 27, but for us, having our first son reach 7 is something big.

Jacob had a good day yesterday. We went to Lam’s parents house and everyone enjoyed a grilled and roasted chicken with freshly-toasted baguette bread with cucumbers and tomatoes on the side. We had a cake afterwards – see all of it below.

Here are the pictures, and below that, a video of Jacob blowing out his candles and opening gifts:

About David and Lam

A smitten couple and loving parents in our early 40s. We have lived in 3 different countries together. We dream of living in a fourth country together after our children grow up. We love long walks in the woods, climbing mountains, boating, traveling, reading, and being together. Both David and Lam are old souls who love quietness and meaningful conversations in which we ponder the truth and mysteries of life as well as discuss philosophical and ethical matters. We especially like to enjoy the small pleasures of daily life.
