Beautiful Berea

Last weekend we took a mini road trip to Berea after finishing all our weekend chores and watching a Finish-language film about how little orphan Nicolas became Santa Clause. Berea lies half an hour away. The distance was manageable and so it was beckoning.

Berea is a beautiful place, inside and out, and its pearl is Berea College. The surrounding countryside is surprisingly pretty and peaceful thanks to peaking mountains and dipping valleys. When we were driving in high altitude outside Berea, the landscape reminded us of North Carolina. There are many cattle and horse farms there.

Berea College is so walkable during a short time. The walk was so pleasant thanks to nice weather. From Berea College, we could easily see the town center and its quaint boutiques. Being in Berea feels like being back in time when things were on a small scale and were running at a more relaxed pace. Perhaps a lot of small college towns feel the same, especially on a late Sunday afternoon.

About David and Lam

A smitten couple and loving parents in our early 40s. We have lived in 3 different countries together. We dream of living in a fourth country together after our children grow up. We love long walks in the woods, climbing mountains, boating, traveling, reading, and being together. Both David and Lam are old souls who love quietness and meaningful conversations in which we ponder the truth and mysteries of life as well as discuss philosophical and ethical matters. We especially like to enjoy the small pleasures of daily life.
