Jacob’ s Summer Adventures in Kentucky, Tennessee and Kansas

School is starting tomorrow. Yay! We have had an action-packed summer. It’s time to sum it all up.

Salato Wildlife Center in Frankfurt, KY

When we were there, it was closed for a fundraising event, so we only saw some wild turkeys. We vowed to return for the kids to see the wild animals.

Spring Cove in Frankfurt, KY

The water in the waterfalls and streams was cold and refreshing! We all dipped our feet in the water and felt the bone-chilling coldness rushing through our bodies.

Fourth of July Celebration in Campbellsville, KY

Campbellsville went all out with different types of event for the Fourth. We had lunch at a barbecue joint downtown called Brothers. Best pulled pork meat ever!

Abbey of Gethsemani in Trappist, KY

The best place to contemplate God, peace, wholeness and holiness.

We watched a documentary about the monks’ life, visited the welcome center and gift shop and visited their cemetery. Their photo and quote collection is beautiful and thought-provoking.

Selling Lemonade at Bridle Creek Apartments

He needed money to buy his own umbrella. So began a business enterprise. It turned out to be a whole-family affair.

About David and Lam

A smitten couple and loving parents in our early 40s. We have lived in 3 different countries together. We dream of living in a fourth country together after our children grow up. We love long walks in the woods, climbing mountains, boating, traveling, reading, and being together. Both David and Lam are old souls who love quietness and meaningful conversations in which we ponder the truth and mysteries of life as well as discuss philosophical and ethical matters. We especially like to enjoy the small pleasures of daily life.
