Jacob and James launched into this after checking out the dinosaur skeletons. Jacob enjoyed the wind-making experiment a great deal and kept blowing wind into us.

Some scientific facts

The last photo shows a crosscut of a huge redwood trunk with rings telling the tree’s age.

We got to see the lab (third photo) where they are working with dinosaur bones excavated in the Kentucky and Ohio areas.

The Edge

This is an ecological preserve area east of Cincinnati “where the Western Prairies meet the foothills of the Appalachian mountains.”

Ancient Caves

Last but not least, we saw the documentary Ancient Caves in the IMAX theater. Here is the trailer:

We hope everyone enjoys the beginning of Spring.

About David and Lam

A smitten couple and loving parents in our early 40s. We have lived in 3 different countries together. We dream of living in a fourth country together after our children grow up. We love long walks in the woods, climbing mountains, boating, traveling, reading, and being together. Both David and Lam are old souls who love quietness and meaningful conversations in which we ponder the truth and mysteries of life as well as discuss philosophical and ethical matters. We especially like to enjoy the small pleasures of daily life.

Lam, another wonderful trip! I really like seeing the things because I was in Union terminal before all the murals were down I don’t know how long ago that would’ve been but I remember being fascinated by the white tile work and of course you were telling the story but am I understanding is it there at this the rest of them are at the Cincinnati airport and anyway yeah all the fun things that kind of made you think of being at the Smithsonian I know that was a great trip for the boys for you guys. Now that the weathers getting nice maybe will see you out and about somewhere you know Madalyn has some news don’t you? Anyway thanks for sharing this
