Jacob’s Christmas concert

Jacob had his school Christmas concert on December 19th. Because we couldn’t really take James, Lam went to Jacob’s dress rehearsal on the 18th and I went to the concert on the evening of the 19th.

Jacob certainly did a better job (more engaged, did more of the actions and singing) than last year, but we still got the feeling he’s really not that into performing on a stage under bright lights with a bunch of people staring at him.

I took video of the concert, but honestly the video on his school’s website is so much better. I had no fewer than 76 parents constantly standing up, going to the front of the audience, placing their head directly in the line of sight of my child, sitting down, and then doing it all over again.

So, here’s the video from his class website (his teacher does all of the website maintainence herself and it isn’t required of her by the School – a great thing that I’ve told her we and Jacob’s entire family appreciates):

Jacob is in the front row, last one on the far right.

About David and Lam

A smitten couple and loving parents in our early 40s. We have lived in 3 different countries together. We dream of living in a fourth country together after our children grow up. We love long walks in the woods, climbing mountains, boating, traveling, reading, and being together. Both David and Lam are old souls who love quietness and meaningful conversations in which we ponder the truth and mysteries of life as well as discuss philosophical and ethical matters. We especially like to enjoy the small pleasures of daily life.
